General strike September 22, 2025

We wish to inform our visitors that today, Monday 22 September, the Sansevero Chapel Museum, as a cultural institution, is participating in the general strike called by the Unione Sindacale di Base in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Consequently, tickets will not be available for purchase today, either online or at the museum.

However, the museum will remain open to those who have already purchased tickets.In response to the ongoing tragedy in Gaza, Palestine, we believe it is important to add our voice to those of thousands calling for justice and peace. The USB has called this extraordinary strike because “humanity has never faced an event as horrific as the genocide in Gaza, with the complete complicity of many governments".

The aim of this initiative is to pressure governments into taking action to stop what is happening: tens of thousands of civilian deaths, hospitals bombed, schools destroyed, and an entire population living under siege and facing starvation.

The Sansevero Chapel Museum cannot remain indifferent to this profound humanitarian tragedy. By taking part, we stand against the extermination of a people and call on Italy and Europe to stop ignoring the issue and take immediate action.
